SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES
About the School
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences is one of the seven schools of Chalimbana University. The school trains teachers, advocates of change in society and security personnel who contribute positively to national development. In addition, the school facilitates analytical and critical thinking skills that are responsive to the study of humans and human behaviour and society in the past and present times. The school consists of five departments namely, Literature and Languages, Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Psychology and Policing and Security Studies.
In line with the Seventh National Development plan (7NDP) and the Curriculum Framework of 2013, the school meets the needs of the different individuals in society through the programmes that are packed to specific needs. In addition, the government of Zambia has opened doors to research, innovation and technology by establishing the Ministries of Green Economy and Small and Medium Enterprises. In line with this, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences of Chalimbana university, provides training programmes to equip students with skills to be able to set up enterprises for themselves in order to be self-reliant and to be productive members of society
Programmes Offered
The school is currently offering the following programs:
- Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies
- Bachelor of Arts in Psychology
- Bachelor of Arts in Policing and Security Studies
Minimum Entry Requirements
Five (5) O-Level credits or better; these must include English Language and Mathematics.
Course Duration
The course study shall be completed in a period of four (years). You can pursue the course under: Full-Time or Long Distance learning.
