SIKALUMBI D
DEAN SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Overview

The rapidly changing work environments, industry and economic needs are pushing organisations to seek new competencies from fresh hires. At regional, national and global levels, the employability of business people is enhanced by the broad skills and competencies they acquire from the courses. The Seventh National Development Plan (7NDPs, 2017) observes that even though Zambia is well within the Vision 2030’s objective of maintaining the unemployment rate below 10 percent, the country still lacks adequately skilled workers in leadership and business specialised fields hence the need to invest in human capital development. The National Vision 2030 in 7NDGs (2017) provides accelerating economic diversification and job creation by exploiting the country’s resource endowments and diversifying away from coppe r while expanding job opportunities. To actualize this will need qualified and skilled human resource in leadership, business education, accounting, finance, economics, banking, entrepreneurship , marketing, procurement and supply chain management, traditional governance among others. With the enhanced holistic programmes, our students will be groomed to possess multiple skill sets in several disciplines and the know-how to problem - solve emerging leadership and business challenges, producing quality results and thriving in the current demanding workforce.
